Creating GADSBY Cover on Scribus

Well, this is my first deviation since early this year--and the first using Windows 7. About time!

After a long rest from Scribus, I returned for yet another cover. This time, it's for my Constitution re-issue of Ernest Vincent Wright's little-read but much heard-of Gadsby: Champion of Youth. (I wrote a post about it last Friday on the Literature forum, and will move it over to my journal eventually.)

I started developing it on GIMP 2.6, but then decided that Scribus would handle the job better. After a slightly complicated setup, I took a shot at it. I took this screenshot at 9:12 this morning, when only the title and subtitle were in place. (What I now have consists of six "e's", all indicated in system colour Grey 68.)

A while after this gets posted on dA, I'll send it over to the Kindle Boards for a critique. Since I am not that great at designing effectively, I am only testing my mettle here.

The new edition of Gadsby goes on sale next Monday (Columbus Day) at Amazon.com's Kindle Store. Cost: Just two dollars. (That's a lipogram.)
